Salvadoran priest Oscar Romero once said, “We are prophets of a future not our own.” This work will not be complete in my lifetime, but it is an important step along the way.
Dr. Roberto Che Espinoza is a Transgender & Latinx public scholar, using imaginative narrative to steward more ethical futures.
“My life’s work focuses on connecting the dots between theory and action. I help folks within the dominant culture and white-passing folks – who are ready to confront their socialization – to identify the ways they’ve been conscripted into supremacy culture. But I do this by leaning into connection and relationship. We ‘compost’ existing hierarchies into the kind of transformed culture we long to see.”
Holding fast to hope, Dr. Roberto writes for the academy, church, and movements for social change.
